Badshah Lyrics

Aditya Prateek Singh Sisodia (born 19 November 1985), better known by his stage name Badshah,[1][2][3] is an Indian rap-music composer rapper and singer known for his HindiHaryanvi, and Punjabi songs.[4] He started his career in 2006 alongside Yo Yo Honey Singh in his band Mafia Mundeer. He split from Honey in 2012 and released his independent Haryanvi song Kar Gayi Chull, which was later adopted into the 2016 Bollywood movie, Kapoor & Sons. His music has been featured in Bollywood soundtracks for films such as 2014 films Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania[5] and Khoobsurat.[6]

He has also collaborated with artists such as Gippy Grewal,[7] Diljit DosanjhManj MusikRaftaarNavv Inder and Aastha Gill among others. His debut single, “DJ Waley Babu” featuring Aastha Gill, was ranked number one on Indian i-tunes charts within 24 hours of the release. The song also crossed a million views on YouTube within 30 hours.[8] In 2016, he collaborated with Navv Inder on Wakhra Swag which won the 2016 Punjabi Music Awards for best duo/group and most popular song of the year award.[9][10] In 2018 he was listed by Forbes Magazine as the 63rd richest celebrity in India.[11]

Early life and Family[edit]

Badshah was born as Aditya Prateek Singh Sisodia in Delhi, to a father from Haryana and mother from Punjab.[12] He is married to Jasmine.[13]

He completed his schooling from Bal Bharati Public School, Pitampura, Delhi where he used to perform on his school choir.[12] Prior to becoming a full-time musician he had enrolled as a math student at the prestigious St Stephens College in Delhi before moving to civil engineer at PEC University of TechnologyChandigarh during which he was exposed to new Punjabi music which promoted him to take on rap writing. He has stated that if he had not become a rapper, he may “have been an IAS officer” .[14][15][16][17] He started his career in music industry with his new name ” Cool Equal”. But after some time he changed his name to Badshah.[18]
